Moldova's Q1'07 Net FDI Jumps 10-fold Y/Y to $70.4 Mln

The net inflow of foreign direct investments (FDI) in Moldova in the first quarter of this year jumped ten times on the year to $70.4 million (51.1 million), the government's export promotion organisation, MIEPO, said on Thursday. EasEur also plans to build a biofuel plant, which will produce bioethanol from corn and wheat.

Bioethanol Plant to Be Built in Altai Territory

Pava plans to launch the production of bioethanol made from vegetable raw materials and biowaste in the Altai Territory in West Siberia. Andrei Igoshin, Pava president, said the first line of the plant would be based on the Rebrikha flourmill. Later on, grain fields will be cultivated and storage facilities built.

Governor Alexander Tkachev concluded an investment agreement with Titan Group of Companies, which will build a bioethanol production plant, combine fodder mill, integrated poultry farm, livestock and processing unit, Remezkov stressed. The total cost of the Bioethanol project is estimated at 200 million euros, he added.

Ukraine Vehicles To Switch to Biofuel by 2010.

Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, has passed a law that requires nine Ukrainian cities with a population over 500,000 to start using biofuels in vehicles by 2010, it was reported on June 13, 2007.
