Two companies have announced their plans to build plants in Rostov Region to produce bioethanol

Two companies, Bashneft-Yug and YugTransitServis, have announced their plans to build plants in Rostov Region to produce bioethanol which is used as fuel. The investments in the two projects may total over 250m dollars.

Maize production enough to meet ten-fold increase in bioethanol output

Hungary willproduce just 70,000 tonnes of bioethanol this year, but the government expects production to increase more than ten-fold by 2010. Still, Hungarian farmers will have to grow no more maize - the main raw material for making bioethanol in Hungary - than they already do, according to an official at Hungary's farming ministry.
